We have had large dogs all our adult lives. Louie, (previously known as, Irish Wolfie mix, Prince) is the most gentle of them all.
Louie is a sweet soul to all humans and other dogs alike. In our home, he gently escorts our 92 year old mom as she slowly navigates with her walker. Around our rambunctious 7 year old grandson and around our 15 month old granddaughter, he is gentle and playful. If the kids are too aggressive, Louie just gets up and walk away.
At the dog parks, he is the "maitre d" who greets each arriving dog to the park. Several times now, he has seen a larger dog being aggressive to a smaller or younger dog. Louie saunders his way over to position himself between the two dogs until they calm down. We aren't imaging or projecting it. We have had the dog owners involved in the conflict compliment us on Louie doing this. We didn't train this behavior. It's just Louie.
We exercise Louie daily for an hour on long walks where he can be off leash to run-explore, or go to an active dog park for an hour. We have learned from reputable dog groomers, that his Irish Wolfhound coat is never cut be we do need to "rake" his coat weekly to thin out and remove his excess coat. Our weekly routine includes a "spa treatment" which he loves. That's about it.
All in all, we believe Louie is both genetically gifted and a brilliant student from the tender hands of Leslie and her family.

Fergus is an exquisite canine with a personality as distinctive as his appearance. He embodies the essence of a gentle giant, radiating warmth and affection unlike any other dog I've encountered. His endearing habit of gazing deeply into your eyes while being petted is just one of the many traits that make him truly remarkable.
In Fergus, I've found a source of immense joy, and I am profoundly grateful for his presence in my life. While he may not bark often, when he does, it's with a purpose, signaling that attention is required. Remarkably responsive to training, Fergus has seamlessly adapted to using a remote collar and boasts an impressive verbal recall.
His playful sighthound spirit shines through in his love for chasing fabric frisbees, showcasing his ability to track an object in flight. Despite his imposing stature, Fergus extends kindness and patience towards his feline sister, allowing her to assert her dominance in their shared domain.
Exploring the great outdoors alongside Fergus is a true delight, and he loves to take long strolls. Whether it's hiking through scenic trails or gliding across snowy landscapes on cross-country skis, he's always near me and responds to my calls. Leslie and Josh have been a pleasure to work with. They care deeply for their dogs and it's been a treat to provide updates on Fergus as he grows.
In good health,

Having an Irish Wolfhound/Standard Poodle mix was a dream. I searched rescues for some time and it really is not a breed found there. Then I started searching breeders. I wanted a reputable breeder who treated the dogs and puppies as family. Well, Josh, Leslie and family provide just that. The parent dogs are their own family pets and the puppies once born are with the parents and the family. The puppies are well socialized and loved and it shows. It really is just a perfect situation, a breeder that truly cares about the dogs it's breeding and the puppies born.
Our Rufus (Charlie from the third litter) is everything they tell you this breed will be and more. He is incredibly gentle with all humans he has met as well as other dogs, cats and horses. He is extremely smart and was house trained fully by 4 months of age. His training is going so well. He is a perfect candidate for a therapy dog because of his wonderful demeanor so we are pursuing this with him. Rufus is a huge cuddle bug and insists on multiple snuggle times every day..which of course he gets. He is funny and goofy and a wonderful companion. Everyone who meets him cannot believe he is not even 7 months old yet, he is just so sweet and well mannered. We could not imagine a better experience and outcome.
Stoddard Creek Puppies has provided us with an absolute joy of a dog. Truly a gentle giant and we just love and adore him so much. Do not hesitate to add one of these wonderful pups to your family!

Hi Stoddards! I think yesterday was our pup's first birthday (Georgie, formerly Snoopy) and I just wanted to tell you how much we love this hairy goofball. He is a big lover, so great with kids, and very calm. He is the president of doggy daycare (where the staff love him and his best friends are all the little bossy dogs) and a neighborhood celebrity. We haven't been anywhere with a scale big enough to weigh him recently, but we think he's somewhere around 105-110 lbs right now and about 32" tall at the shoulders.
Thanks for our sweet guy. Sending some photos :)

Lulu is such as sweet girl! She is calm, loving, and very intelligent. When she is not snuggling with me on the couch, you can find her playing with her toys or on adventures outdoors. On walks, people always comment on how gentle and well behaved she is. She has a beautiful dark coat that is very easy to maintain. Lulu is currently seven months old, incredibly healthy, and weighs approximately 70lbs. She is beautiful inside and out. I am lucky to be her mom and I am so excited to continue to watch her grow!
I am beyond grateful to have found Stoddard Creek Puppies! They raise healthy and happy puppies with amazing temperaments. I would absolutely adopt from them again in the future. If you are looking to add an addition to your family, you have found the perfect breeder!
Best,
Chelsey
